[Job Description] Tooling Developer is in charge of supervisor the creation of molds, dies and other specialized tools used in chassis production. Board tooling/ production knowledge on variety of different materials—including metals, plastics, die cast and more—to work with Internal ME developer and outer ODM/ EMS partner for these tools creation. Tooling Developer may also be involved in the design process for new products or components, assist Global Sourcing/Purchasing to review the quotation of chassis/ME components and assist ME Developer to review the DFM and on-site tooling try-out with Supplier. This might include creating 3D models or computer-aided designs like Moldex/Moldflow that can be used to estimation the production feasibility and build prototypes or test out new ideas. [Key Responsibilities] -Assist to Chassis/ME components DFM review with ME to ensure that chassis/ME components are feasible from a manufacturing standpoint -Assist to Tooling quotation review with Global Sourcing. -Assist to Tooling Try-out and Manufacturing with Supplier to ensure quality standards are met ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) -Chassis supplier Survey and Audit. Developing relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure they can provide quality products at reasonable prices -Take a lead in driving improvement of efficiency and quality of part manufacturing, molding, and tooling techniques. -Develop new methods for producing products to reduce waste and increase efficiency in manufacturing processes for Sustainability. -Serve as an internal expert for tool design by leveraging a detailed understanding of various material properties and tool component fabrication techniques.
